200 Days In, Vice President Biden Touts Recovery Act (voices.washingtonpost.com)

Vice President Biden declared Thursday that the $787 billion economic stimulus program is playing a major role in lifting the nation’s economy out of the worst financial downturn since the Great Depression.

Offering an assessment of the program 200 days after its enactment, Biden said that the legislation has moved the country from the edge of a financial abyss into what increasingly looks like an economic recovery.

“The Recovery Act has played a significant role in changing the trajectory of our economy and changing the conversation about the economy in this country,” Biden said in a speech at the Brookings Institution in the District. “Instead of talking about the beginning of a depression, we are talking about the end of a recession.”

…”I am optimistic that their report will show that we met or exceeded” the goals set for the program, Biden said. The administration said the law would create or save 3.5 million jobs over two years.

So, ok… a few things.

First, so it was the government that “saved” the country, not the hardworking American people. Hmm.

Second, it’s better? Lots of people are still losing their jobs every month. Here in Wisconsin, we’ve lost manufacturing (partly thanks to our sorry governor and very high taxes here in Wisconsin). So this – right now how things are – is what they call success? It’s over? This is it? That was their plan? This was their goal?

PELOSI SAYS BIRTH CONTROL WILL HELP ECONOMY

The revelation came during an exchange Sunday morning on ABC’s THIS WEEK.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?

PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those – one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So no apologies for that?

PELOSI: No apologies. No. we have to deal with the consequences of the downturn in our economy.

Pelosi: Contraception is Good Stimulus for the Economy

Me: This is wrong on so many levels, one of which is looking at children born to the “wrong people” as economic burdens rather gifts, the music makers, the dreamers of dreams. She sees them as a cost instead of blessed benefits. Wow.

As a business owner, when I think of adding on new employees, I think that the work they do will earn the company some profit. If there was no profit coming in from hiring them, then I would not hire them. This is pretty basic. All businesses think this way.

But Pelosi thinks the opposite. With the Socialist agenda she’s pushing through with Obama and others, each American (to her) does not create profit, does not make the country better but instead creates a loss. That’s her thinking of who is running this country now. Each American alive creates a loss and costs everyone something. I cannot believe that. You couldn’t make that up it’s so out there and extreme. Incredible.

I guess this goes right along with the Democratic Party’s stance on abortion. Sorry to mention that but it totally lines up except instead of limiting “life” to a baby being outside the womb instead of inside, it’s about the people that are already outside the womb.

If this is how the Democrats want to run the country, then let’s just close up shop now and close down the USA. If each American creates a loss (in their eyes), then there is no “hope” for this country with how they see it. Game over.
