200 Days In, Vice President Biden Touts Recovery Act (voices.washingtonpost.com)

Vice President Biden declared Thursday that the $787 billion economic stimulus program is playing a major role in lifting the nation’s economy out of the worst financial downturn since the Great Depression.

Offering an assessment of the program 200 days after its enactment, Biden said that the legislation has moved the country from the edge of a financial abyss into what increasingly looks like an economic recovery.

“The Recovery Act has played a significant role in changing the trajectory of our economy and changing the conversation about the economy in this country,” Biden said in a speech at the Brookings Institution in the District. “Instead of talking about the beginning of a depression, we are talking about the end of a recession.”

…”I am optimistic that their report will show that we met or exceeded” the goals set for the program, Biden said. The administration said the law would create or save 3.5 million jobs over two years.

So, ok… a few things.

First, so it was the government that “saved” the country, not the hardworking American people. Hmm.

Second, it’s better? Lots of people are still losing their jobs every month. Here in Wisconsin, we’ve lost manufacturing (partly thanks to our sorry governor and very high taxes here in Wisconsin). So this – right now how things are – is what they call success? It’s over? This is it? That was their plan? This was their goal?

Obama health care fabrications exposed by fact-checking (www.examiner.com)

The more Obama talks about his health care reform program, the more inconsistencies are being found by fact-checkers. The basic facts about coverage, cost and who foots the bill that he touts are being challenged by independent organizations who have begun to expose the fabrications. The inconsistencies by Obama between his rhetoric and reality are becoming more obvious every time he opens his mouth trying to fend off criticism of his health care proposals.

He said that the U.S. spends 50 percent more per capita on health care than the next most expensive country. Not quite. We spend 20 percent more than the second most expensive country, and 50 percent more than the third.

He’s really losing on healthcare. The more he tries, the worse he does. Democrats are turning on him. This won’t get signed on Obama’s timetable. Fail.

Bush’s budget for 2008 had the largest, all-time deficit in history. Obama’s budget is 4 times that. Obama has spent more in 3 months than Bush did in 8 years. I didn’t make that up, it’s very real.

There’s no possible way that the money Obama is spending will yield a profit. It’s impossible. It was spent too fast and he spent too much. It’s irresponsible – no, criminal.

And he knows what he’s doing. He’s smart. It’s going to slowly tie everyone to the government – very big government and there is no undoing it. America has profoundly changed in just a few months.

Obama is tearing apart the greatest economy in the history of the world. Believe it – actually, you don’t have to… you’ll see it happen soon.

Obama Not Owning Up on the Economy

Obama clearly (CLEARLY) know the situation was when he came into office and even when he was being elected. He’s blaming Bush. No, no… no! That time is over and with the amount of money Obama is spending, he now owns this economy. No doubt. He’s got to man up. The Democrats have had the majority since 2006. Obama was in Congress then – so this is definitely Obama’s economy – no matter what he says.

Obama inherited the economy, which he knew about, but he also inherited the responsibility to lead as President. To uphold the U.S. Constitution. He inherited the United States of America where the people are free to create, innovate and excel. He inherited the greatest nation in the history of the world.

It’s childish and immature to cry like a baby and apologize for America. Presidents don’t do that – check the history books. Be proud of your country and its people.

It’s time to act like an American President, Mr. Obama. Man up!

Biden’s telling people not to fly or use public transportation and naming secret bunkers (that’s for his own safety, so finally it’s something that affects him). Besides Obama’s flat out lies and 9/11 re-enactments for NYC, simple, off the cuff, comments from our Commander in Chief help to take down the economy in Las Vegas. Obama said:

“You can’t get corporate jets. You can’t go take a trip to Las Vegas or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayer’s dime.”

And this told people, business people, to avoid Las Vegas for conventions. At first, I wondered why they were listening to Obama in the first place and then remembered how Democrats string you up if you fly to Washington, D.C. instead of take your car like the automakers. No wait, that’s the media that does that… no the Democrats. Forget it, they’re the same thing.

One thing about President Bush is that he didn’t talk to the public a whole lot. At the beginning of his Presidency, whenever he did that, his approval numbers would go up. But he was pretty quiet mostly. He fumbled his words but he at least chose them carefully. He didn’t put entire regional economies in the crapper during a delicate time.

Obama and Biden are just doing their “on the job training” like Biden predicted. So they’re making mistakes. That’s what the American people elected… well, at least half of them anyway. Us in the other half knew this was coming. The least Obama could do is meet with the guy and help him out.
