Yeah, this is our year! Loving it!

Well, I started this blog for two reasons:

1. I wanted to vent about Obama.
2. I wanted to get a WordPress blog and use it and see how it worked.

In doing this I had 2 goals:

1. To learn more about WordPress blogs.
2. To see if this would generate any income.

While doing this experiment, I’ve learned that blogging is a bit of work and for that amount of work, you don’t make any revenue. That’s fine. I’m single and have a good amount of time to put into something and experiment.

My plan now is to either discontinue blogging here or else just blog once in a while. I’ve found a better way to spend my time online where I can really make some serious cash. With this “stimulus” bill going through and seeing how the economy is going to be in the tank for a long time, I really can’t afford to experiment any more.

With my new plan, I will be able to pay my mortgage monthly by only working about 5 hours a week. Yeah, that’s huge. I’ll be doing that by the end of the year and I should have all my other debt paid off.

With the way Obama is running things, it has lit a fire underneath me to build up my savings, get out of debt and get my own plan in place since it looks like he’s not going to cut taxes and make it easy for the majority of us. The Democrats’ pet projects just got funded and being a single white guy in his mid thirties is about the farthest thing away you can be from benefiting from any plan that a Democrat could come up with. I’m glad I have an entrepreneurial spirit in me. Thank God.

So it’s been fun blogging here a few months. I’ll leave this site up a while but don’t expect many posts, if any.

(Jan 8, 2009) Barack Obama: we must spend our way out of recession

“At this particular moment, only government can provide the short-term boost necessary to lift us from a recession this deep and severe,” Mr Obama said. “Only government can break the vicious cycles that are crippling our economy.”

And then today:

(Jan 28, 2009) Obama touts stimulus plan to businesses

“All we can do, those of us here in Washington, is to help create a favorable climate in which workers can prosper, businesses can thrive, and our economy can grow,” Mr. Obama said, speaking to a group of about 50 business leaders in the White House East Room.

Good, that’s right! Great. He gets it… sort of.

First of all, why the change? Does he really know what works and just was afraid to come out with it? Weird. He then said (citing the same source):

“That is exactly what the recovery plan I have proposed is intended to do, and that is exactly what I intend to achieve, soon,” he said.

Ok, that’s where this falls apart, This plan may be intended to do that but it’s full of too much junk, pork – so it’s not really doing it totally. Let’s put egos aside, roll up our sleeves and cut taxes. And Obama does say something like that, which is good:

Obama doesn’t seem eager to create a nemesis. On Jan. 9, he said there will be “no pride of authorship” in writing a stimulus package aimed at saving or creating 4 million jobs. He met with congressional Republicans yesterday to sell his plan.

So it’s nice to see something good. I’ll post good things here as I see them. His “change” or flip on this is definitely confusing though.
